The Garden clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 28 from 10 AM-12 PM. I know that Saturday mornings can be tough with families due to extra-curricular activities, but if you happen to have some time we could really use some help outside preparing the garden for the Fall.  Please bring rakes, watering cans, trowels, and small shovels to borrow just for Saturday. Please bring your own gloves! Lemonade and a snack will be available to workers. Please either sign up at the front office to let us know you can make it or reply to this email. Thank you!    

A week prior to the conferences we invite parents to attend Observation Week. This is a time that parents can sign up to conduct an observation of their child prior to their conference. BMS provides an observation form to help guide parents with their observations to help identify specific behaviors, interactions with others and level of engagement in the classroom.

BMS is partnering with One Warm Coat and Share of McLean to collect coats (adult and children) for families that are in need of a warm jacket. Please bring your gently used coats to the front lobby at Bristow Montessori School for collection. Thank you for helping a family or child in need to stay warm this winter season.

LET'S CAN HUNGER! NOVEMBER 1- 22

Join us in donating canned goods and non-perishable food items to help our local food pantry. Let's get a nice large donation together just in time for the holidays. Our children will be showing the class what they brought in, sorting Items, discussing the different food groups, and finally counting the total number of donations. The items that are most in need are cereal, canned vegetables and fruit, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, instant potatoes, canned sauces, and canned meats.

BMS is holding an Open House on Saturday, November 4th from 10:00 -1:00. We invite prospective parents to stop and learn about our Programs, Admission Process, Community, and learn more about Montessori Education for your child. Contact the Admissions office at (703) 468-1191 to get more information about our Open House.

BMS will be closed for students, and parent/teacher conferences.  BMS Parent/Teacher conferences are on Nov 10th. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside the classrooms 2 weeks prior to conference week. Please, see your teacher if you have any questions.

Please Join Us for our monthly PTO meeting. Childcare provided for children ages 3 and up, pizza included! Meet other BMS Parents, chat about upcoming school news/events, & brainstorm ways to positively impact the BMS Community.

11:00am - 1:00pm - Thanksgiving Luncheon. Each class will have a Thanksgiving feast, and parents are invited to attend! Please let your teachers know if you want to arrive early and help set up. School day dismissal at 3:00, school closes at 6:30 pm regular time for extended care.
